On August 28, 2019, the first in Ukraine Summer School of Guides within the project “Kyiv Anti-Corruption Tours” ACREC successfully ended with the solemn presentation of certificates.
The Summer School of Guides became the first in Ukraine project of two-module training in the art of communication on the topic of corruption and training of participants in the field of anti-corruption education, in particular as guides of anti-corruption tours.
During the two training modules, the 20 best participants had the opportunity to learn the theoretical foundations in the field of (anti-) corruption and at the same time test their knowledge in practice in a workshop on rhetoric and storytelling.
The key result of the School was the successful professionalization and involvement in the anti-corruption education of the 15 most motivated activists from Kyiv and the regions of Ukraine. All graduates of the School of Guides will have the opportunity to embody themselves in the field of non-formal education and innovative anti-corruption projects. Already in September 2019, the selected graduates will begin their careers as guides to anti-corruption tours, opening a new Kyiv tour along the Podil route.
We remind you that Kyiv Anti-Corruption Tours is a project of the Interdisciplinary Research and Education Center for Combating Corruption (ACREC), which is an innovative educational tool in the format of interactive city tours accompanied by a guide. The anti-corruption tour project was created to inform civil society about the mechanisms of corruption with a focus on specific ways and tools to prevent them in the future, as well as the activities and successes of government agencies, NGOs and anti-corruption activists in Ukraine
The event was held on the basis of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” with the financial support of the International Renaissance Foundation and the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine under the program “Initiative for the Development of Analytical Centers”.
